Light of Life
: Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
"Your Word is a Lamp to My Feet and a Light to My Path" – Psalm 119:105
I love reading the Psalms in the Holy Bible. Over past 30 plus years, this faith filled truth has given me purpose and clarity. They have been my constant source of strength, comfort and hope.
These sacred songs are filled with praise, thanksgiving, and wisdom—words that breathe life into our daily struggles, much like sacred bhajans or powerful duals that guide the soul. One verse that continues to echo in my heart is:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105
What a beautiful image: a lamp at our feet and a light on our path. Both exist for one purpose — to dispel darkness. Whether you come from a Hindu background where light is honoured during Diwali, or from an Islamic tradition that celebrates divine guidance (hidayah) as light from Allah, you understand the deep symbolism of light triumphing over darkness.
This verse carries a dual power — a lamp gives us enough clarity to take the next step, while a light illuminates the road ahead. That’s exactly what the Word of God does: it helps us make decisions today, and it gives us hope and direction for tomorrow.
But there’s more. Yes, much more for a truth seekers…
In the Gospel of John, Jesus said something radical — something that invites every seeker of truth to pause and reflect:
“I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12
Jesus wasn’t claiming to be just another prophet or teacher. He was revealing a divine identity — the source of all light, truth, and life. For anyone—whether born into tradition, struggling with doubt, or lost in religious routine—His words are not a call to religion, but to relationship.
He is the lamp that reveals the next step when we’re confused…
He is the light that exposes the traps of deception and guides us safely home.
The world is full of spiritual darkness: confusion, fear, pride, lust, hatred, and despair. These shadows blind us, divide families, and destroy peace. But just like light automatically expels darkness, truth automatically breaks the power of lies.
And Jesus, the Light of the World, invites every heart—Hindu, Muslim, agnostic, or religious—to walk with Him. Not in empty rituals, but in the living light of love, truth, and grace.
Let the Light of God's Word guide your steps — not just for today, but for eternity.
Would you like this adapted into a spoken word, social media post, or flyer format using the image of Jesus with Indian seekers? I can format it accordingly.
Time to take action by praying this with a sincere child-like heart:
Father God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Please open the eyes of my heart. Help me to know you personally with a genuine relationship. I confess that Jesus died and rose again as a sacrificial lamb to set me free from deception and the curse. Today, let my spirit come alive in the knowledge of your grace and mercy; I ask this in Yeshu’s name. Amen.
